In the Footsteps of Yunus

He was born in Yıldızeli Çubuk Village in 1968. He finished primary school in his village and high school in Sivas. He completed his higher education at Marmara University Faculty of Theology (1992). He completed his master's degree in Turkish- Islamic Literature at the same faculty (1996). He worked as a teacher in Istanbul, Aydın and Izmir. In 1998, he became a research assistant in the Department of Turkish-Islamic Literature at the Faculty of Theology at Cumhuriyet University. He completed his doctoral studies at Dokuz Eylul University (2002), with his thesis titled "Fenâyî Divanı". He became Assistant Professor in 2004, Associate Professor in 2006, and Professor in 2012. He was reappointed in 2020 to the post of Rector, which he was appointed in 2016. He is still working at Sivas Cumhuriyet University.
