Özet
Laffitteina (Marie, 1946) species are characteristic foraminifera of the outcrops of the Maastrichtian - Middle Paleocene aged units in Turkey. Laffitteina aff. marsicana Farinacci and Laffitteina marsicana Farinacci from upper part of Early Maastrichtian to Middle - Late Maastrichtian; to the end of Late Maastrichtian Laffitteina oeztuerki Ian from middle part of Late Maastrichtian; Laffitteina boluensis Dizer from late Upper Maastrichtian to end Danian; Laffitteina erki (Sirel) from middle parts of Lower Danian to middle parts of Lower Thanetian; Laffitteina cf. monodi Marie from middle part of Early Danian to end of Late Danian and Laffitteina bibensis Marie from Early Maastrichtian last to the end of the Early Thanetian show stratigraphical distribution in Turkey. Laffitteina species are very important for transition of Cretaceous/Tertiary boundary particularly in the Eastern Pontids. Laffitteina's are observed only in Maastrichtian levels in the Ilgaz and Beydaglari (W Antalya) regions. On the other hand (W Pontids, Anatolids, Bolkardag and Adiyaman regions), Laffitteinas are precise Paleocene in age.
