| dc.description.abstract | Bu araştırma, columna vertebralis deformitelerinden olan skolyozun, Sivas ilindeki ortaokul adölesan çağ öğrencilerinde ne sıklıkta görüldüğünü değerlendirip, skolyozla ilişkili morbiditelere, psikososyal etkilerine karşı erken dönemde önlem alınmasını ve okul taramalarının gerekliliğini araştırmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu araştırmadaki örneklem büyüklüğü, kümeleme örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak hesaplanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemine Sivas ilindeki 12 ortaokul alınmış olup, bu okullarda 240'ı erkek ve 317'si kız olmak üzere toplam 557 öğrenci değerlendirilmiştir. Değerlendirmeye yaş aralığı 9-15 olan öğrenciler dahil edilmiştir. Değerlendirmede Adam's Öne Eğilme Testi ve skolyometre kullanılmıştır. Adam's Öne Eğilme Testinde araştırmacı tarafından skapulalar arasında bir seviye farkının olup olmadığı değerlendirilmiştir. Skolyometrede ise, skolyotik eğriliğin derecesi, yönü ve görüldüğü omurga düzeyi değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre, idiyopatik skolyoz tanısı 7 derece ve üzeri alındığında Sivas il merkezinde 9-15 yaş aralığındaki öğrencilerde genel skolyoz prevalansı % 4,7 kızlarda, % 5,8 erkeklerde toplamda ise % 5,6 olarak bulunmuştur. Sonuç olarak diğer ülkelerde rutin okul tarama programlarında yer alan skolyozun, ülkemizde de yasal bir şekilde yer alması gerektiği düşünülmektedir. Adölesan çağdaki öğrencilere fizyoterapistler tarafından doğru postür eğitimi verilmesi ile skolyoz prevalansında azalma olacağını düşünmekteyiz. | dc.description.abstract | This study evaluates the frequency of scoliosis, which is one of the collateral vertebral deformities, in secondary school adolescents in Sivas. The aim of this study was to investigate the necessity of early measures against scoliosis-related morbidities, psychosocial effects, and the need for school screening. Sample size in this study was calculated by using clustering sampling method. The sample of the study consisted of 12 secondary schools in Sivas and a total of 557 students, 240 of them were male and 317 were female. Students aged between 9 and 15 years were included in the evaluation. Students were assessed using the Adam's Bending Test and scoliometer. The Adam's Öne Eğilme Test was evaluated by the researcher to determine whether there is a level difference between the scapulas. In scoliometry, the degree, direction and spine level of the scoliotic curvature were evaluated. According to the results obtained from the study, when the diagnosis of idiopathic scoliosis is 7 degrees and above, the prevalence of general scoliosis in children between 9-15 years of age in Sivas city center is % 4.7 in girls and % 5.8 in men. In total, it was found to be % 5.6. As a result, scoliosis which is included in routine school screening programs in other countries, should be included in our country legally.
