dc.description.abstract | Pyrimidine and pyrimidine derivatives, which are included in heterocyclic compounds, are used in various applications in fields such as pharmaceutical medicine, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, polymer chemistry, coordination chemistry, and agricultural chemistry (drugs, organic compounds, polymers, sensors, inhibitors, etc., adsorbent etc.) This study presents the applications of pyrimidine derivatives in the adsorption of heavy metals, which are environmental pollutants. Studies have shown that pyrimidine derivatives are successfully applied for the enrichment and removal of toxic metals. Theoretical calculations of some molecules used in the study were calculated in the HF/6-31++G(d,p) basis set and the activities of the molecules were compared. © 2024 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
