| dc.description.abstract | Low back pain (LBP) is a common disorder that contributes significantly to social and economic loss. A significant portion of the population suffers from this disease, one of the most-seen musculoskeletal disorders. LBP can be associated with myofascial pain, facet joint pain, sacroiliac joint pain, discogenic pain, spinal stenosis, or failed back surgery. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is one of the novel treatment methods for LBP. PRP is plasma that contains concentrated platelets from autologous blood. Platelets contain cytokines and growth factors, thought to speed up the repair processes of the body. As a result, they may help manage inflamed nerves associated with lumbar neuropathic pain and canal stenosis. PRP is platelet sequestration in the plasma component of autologous blood that releases various intermediaries and growth factors. All these procedures ultimately result in tissue repair and LBP treatment. PRP is an efficient and less invasive method of treating LBP in routine clinical practice. © 2024 Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved. | |
