Özet

Photodynamic therapy is defined as the termination of the viability of target cells by generating reactive oxygen species in the presence of a photosensitizing agent with an appropriate wavelength and dose of light. The foundations of modern phototherapy were laid at the beginning of the 19th century. Oskar Raab proved that some chemical compounds such as acridine and eosin have toxic effects under light.
