Ix. Konstantinos Monomakhos: Makedonya Hanedanlığı’nın Son İmparatoru

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Makedonya Hanedanlığı’nın (867-1056) son imparatoru olan IX. Konstantinos Monomakhos’un (1042-1055) hayatını incelemektir. Tez kapsamında birinci bölümde; Makedonya Hanedanlığı’nın oluşum sürecine ve kronolojik bir şekilde imparatorların hayatlarına, konu ile ilgili bugüne kadar yapılan yayınlar ve araştırmalar doğrultusunda değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde, tezin ana konusu IX. Konstantinos Monomakhos’un hayatı, imparatorluk faaliyetleri ile birlikte döneminin sanatsal faaliyetleri mimari, resim ve el sanatları başlıkları katalog biçiminde ayrıntılı bir şekilde ele alınmıştır. Mimari bölümünde; Nea Moni Manastırı Theotokos Kilisesi, Mangana Aziz Georgios Kilisesi, Demre (Myra) Aziz Nikolaos Kilisesi ve Kudüs Kutsal Mezar Kilisesi, resim bölümünde; Nea Moni Manastırı Theotokos Kilisesi Mozaikleri ve Ayasofya- IX. Konstantinos Monomakhos ve Zoe Mozaiği, el sanatları bölümünde; IX. Konstantinos Monomakhos’un Tacı hakkında bilgi verilmiştir.

The purpose of this study was to examine the life of the last emperor of the Macedonian Dynasty (867-1056), Constantine IX Monomachos (1042-1055). Within the context of the thesis, in the first part; the formation process of the Macedonian Dynasty and the lives of the emperors have been mentioned chronologically in terms of publications and researches related to the subject. In the second part, the main topic of the thesis is the life of Constantine IX Monomachos, as well as the imperial the artistic activities of the period were discussed in detail under the architectural, painting and minor artstitels in the form of catalog. In the architectural section; Chios, Nea Moni Monastery Theotokos Church, Monastery of Hagios Georgios Mangana in İstanbul, Demre (Myra) St. Nicholas Church and Church of the Holy Sepulshre in Jerusalem, in the painting section; Nea Moni Monastery Theotokos Church Mosaics and Haghia Sophia – mosaics of Constantine IX Monomachos and Zoe, in the minor arts section; crown of Constantine IX Monomachos was mentioned.
