dc.description.abstractSUMMARY The fact of crime and criminality has always existed throughout the history of humanity. Social change has created big transformations in the social structures of societies - Historically speaking, it is a sociologial fact that societies have moved from less-populated to heavily-Populated, heteroge nous structured cities.it can be said, in accordance with this sort of change, thet the reality of crime and criminality have gained various meanings, and that crime and criminal cases have increased. In Turkey, especially since the 1950 s, as a naturel result of social change, there has been a wave of migration from rural areas to cities. On the one hand, there have emerged problems of migration; on the other, unhealthy urbanization and the un-stable socio-economic structure of cities have caused the diversity of crime and the number of criminals to increase. Vievvreo Sociologically, the statistical data in "1988 Judicial Statistics", Which underlies this research, proves this rese arch to be correct.en_US
