Determination of knowledge level of cervical cancer academics

Aim: This study was carried out with the aim of determining the knowledge levels of academicians about cervical cancer. Material and Method: In this descriptive study, samples were taken from a total of 148 women with a systemtic sampling method at an alfa 0.05 significance level using weighting. Each question on the forms which were completed individually by the women were evaluated as 1 point for every correct answer and 0 points for every incorrect answer. The data has been tabulated according to number of people and percentages. Results: It was determined that %43.9 of the academicians had recieved information regarding cervical cancer. It was also determined that the female academicians had knowledge about cervical cancer, its risk factors and the pap smear. However, this knowledge was not at a required level. Discussion: The female academicians did not have the necessary knowledge levels about cervical cancer, its risk factors and pap smear.
