Restoration of a fractured anterior tooth supported with prefabric post and original tooth fragment: A case report [Kirilmiş bi?r anteri?or di?şi?n prefabri?k post deste?i? ve kendi? kirik parçasi i?le restore edi?lmesi?: Olgu raporu]

Abstract

Anterior tooth fracture is a common type of dental injury, and its treatment is an important issue in dentistry. When the restorative alternatives are evaluated, loss of tooth structure, the eruptive condition of the fractured tooth, function and patient demands should be considered. If an excessive crown fracture occurs during trauma, the root canal treatment and the post application could be needed in order to increase the retention. Moreover, complicate fractured anterior teeth supported post that can be restored by adhesive bonding of the fragment to the remaining tooth structure; it is possible that restoration of such teeth using the fractured fragment may produce esthetic result. This case report presents a tooth with complicated crown fracture caused by trauma has been restored with its fracture fragment. The treatment has been found to be successful with clinical controls performed at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months.
