Objective: This research was conducted to determine the professional attitudes of midwives working in a province of the Central Anatolian Region of Turkey and to determine some factors that may affect this. Method: The research is of descriptive type. In the research conducted with 118 midwives working in a province located in the inner region of Turkey, data were collected with a personal information form and Professional Attitude Inventory in Occupation (PAIO). The data were evaluated using descriptive statistics such as number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and the Bonferroni advanced test to determine the variance analysis difference. Results: In the study, midwives with a mean PAIO score of 142±10.9; Age, marital status, having children, education status, monthly income, weekly working hours, choosing the profession willingly, liking the profession did not affect the mean PAIO score (p>.05). On the other hand, the institution where the midwives work, the unit they work in, the way they work and the level of professionalism have affected the PAIO mean score significantly (p<.05). Conclusion: Midwives working in the hospital, day and night shifts, in the maternity ward and not receiving professional training have lower professional attitudes than other midwives. In-service training is recommended for midwives to increase professionalism and professional attitude. © 2024, Ataturk Universitesi. All rights reserved.
