Poetry has been carrying lyricism and used as an educational tool for centuries. Poetic dictionaries, medical books, sehrengizs about the places poets travel and see, surnames that tells about weddings or festivities, gazavatnames about wars etc. it has always been described with poetry. It has also been one of the most effective tools in the teaching of Islam in Anatolia. The people of Ahmet Yesevi coming to our geography and people like Mevlana and Yunus Emre generally covered similar subjects in the sufi works they wrote. Poetic interpretations, forty hadith translations, catechisms, mawlids, miraciyes, hilyes, maktels and many other religious contents were in demand. One of these types nasihatnames. In the nasihatnames, the things that the person should and should not do are explained in a didactic way. In this study, the work written by Harputlu Omer Naimi Efendi addressed to his son, Manzume-i Naimiyye was discussed. Omer Naimi, who was born in the early 1800s, passed away in 1882 after spending most of his life in science education and study. In addition to the famous works such as Kaside-i Burde Serhi, he left behind the mentioned work. The mentioned work consists of 14 sections, for example: nurture of children, youth times, good morals, requirement of Islam and faith, branches of faith, wajibs of Islam, interest.
